United Way’s Day of Action Empowering Volunteers to Build Stronger Communities

BEAUTIFY OUR SCHOOLS ON JUNE 21ST

COACHELLA VALLEY – On June 21st from 7:00am – 11:00am United Way of the Desert is rallying over 100 volunteers throughout the community for Day of Action, an annual event that mobilizes the caring power of volunteers to make a meaningful impact in more than 400 communities around the world. Here in the Coachella Valley volunteers will be in every school district cleaning up buses, classrooms, and libraries to help beautify our schools. Currently, we have 12 schools participating and we’ll have 10 volunteers at each school – many of them coming from local NGOs, Government Agencies, and Corporations including Target, Diamond Resorts, Gay Desert Guide,

Last year, more than 418 United Ways in 21 countries mobilized volunteers in their communities on Day of Action.

WHAT:          United Way of the Desert and volunteers will clean schools and beautify campuses to get a jump on the next school year, as this one ends.

            WHEN:          June 21st, 2018 from 7:00am – 11:00am

WHERE:        Amelia Earhart Elementary School, Desert Ridge Academy, Dr. Carreon Academy Library, Thomas Jefferson Middle School Library, Cathedral City High School, Desert Hot Springs High School, Rancho Mirage High School, Palm Springs                                High School, Peter Pendleton, Mecca Elementary School, Cesar Chavez School, Salton Sea Elementary School
