Hunger Doesn't Take the Weekend Off

When kids are well nourished, they can focus on learning and development, which creates a world of possibility. Kids Pack provides a backpack of food to more than 1,800 homeless and very low income children each weekend.

Feeding Our Future

Over 49,782 Kids Pack backpacks of food were delivered to 2,010 local children each weekend in the past year ensuring they arrive to school Monday morning ready to learn.

“Thank you for the food because they’re delicious and you take care of us. Don’t stop giving them; I never had snacks at home. Thank you!”

How it Works:

1 in 4 children in this region live in poverty and are at risk of going to bed hungry, and more than half of the children in public schools within the Inland Empire United Way’s service area are enrolled in the federal free and reduced meal program at their schools.

Through partnerships with local schools, businesses, and other community groups, the Kids Pack program provides homeless and very low-income school children with backpacks of nutritious food each weekend, when school meals are not available, so they can engage in school and succeed.
