What is the mission of United Way of the Desert (UWD)?

Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty in the Coachella Valley through mobilizing the caring power of community.

What does United Way of the Desert do in the community to accomplish the mission?

Our 17 partner programs help us accomplish our mission to break the cycle of poverty in the Coachella Valley through mobilizing the caring power of community. When you give to us, you support a continuum of needs across many areas that work together as pillars to help improve the lives of our underprivileged friends and neighbors. We encourage you to learn more about each local program here.

We also have our own internal programs such as our Help2Others Water Assistance program and Raising A Reader which currently serves close to 2000 Coachella Valley children.
